Linda Rader Overman took her very first Writers' Program novel writing course in 1990, Building a Good Foundation with Phyllis Gebauer, where she workshopped early drafts of her book. Linda shares the good news: "Well, 18 years later this epistolary novel, Letters Between Us, is being published!"
The novel will be published by Plain View Press this fall. "Truly, [Phyllis's] course was one of the first I workshopped this novel in—and then I did not actually finish the novel until 2005. Life gets in the way sometimes." She adds, "I will always remember and be grateful for taking her course, which gave me the impetus to keep on going."
Linda's experience is an inspiration to other students writing in a longer format—sometimes it just takes persistence. What a wonderful achievement!
