The UCLA Extension Writers' Program offers approximately 185 onsite courses in creative writing each year for beginning, intermediate, and advanced writers.
Onsite courses are held during the daytime, in the evenings, and on weekends on the UCLA campus and at the 1010 Westwood Boulevard facility in Westwood Village. We also offer courses in downtown Los Angeles at the Figueroa Courtyard.
The Writers' Program offers an extraordinary range of courses in fiction, nonfiction, playwriting, poetry, publishing, and writing for the youth market. Well-published instructors bring practical experience and a variety of teaching styles to their classrooms while inspiring and guiding students to achieve their writing goals.

Screenwriting
The UCLA Extension Writers' Program offers approximately 140 onsite screenwriting courses of all levels each year. Courses in both feature film writing and television writing are offered on the UCLA campus, at our 1010 Westwood Boulevard facility, or at our satellite location in downtown Los Angeles at the Figueroa Courtyard. For your convenience, courses are offered during the day, in the evenings, and on weekends.
Courses are taught by industry professionals, most of whom are produced writers and Writers Guild of America (WGA) members. The screenwriting curriculum is aimed at achieving results and developing within students a deep knowledge of craft and the writing process.
